October 2025 Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the October Students of the Month: Stephen Roehrig (Kiwanis Club), Juliana McClowry (Lions Club), Alison Jakovich (Rotary Club), and Charles Czerkies (Rotary Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited in both the classroom and in the community.

Stephen Roehrig, son of Megan and Stephen Roehrig of Plainfield, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School. Stephen is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and International Thespian Society. He is involved in Student Council, Scholastic Bowl, Drama Club, Robotics Club, Gardening Club, and Open Mic Club. Outside of his school responsibilities, Stephen is a member of Boy Scouts of America and a lifeguard. Stephen is undecided on where he would like to attend college but plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Juliana McClowry, daughter of Gina and Mark McClowry of Romeoville, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society, and has won medals in numerous subjects throughout her high school years. Juliana is active in Habitat for Humanity, Key Club, Medical Science Club, and Math Team. She is also a member of the varsity tennis team and involved in Challenge Fitness Tennis Club. Juliana is busy outside of her school duties as she works at Dairy Queen and also enjoys scrapbooking and playing three instruments. Juliana has not decided where she will attend college but plans to major in engineering and minor in mathematics.

Alison Jakovich, daughter of Amanda and Jason Jakovich of Plainfield, is a graduate of Murphy Junior High School. Alison is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National French Honor Society where she serves as president. She is a recipient of the JCA Heritage Award, Franciscan Carmelite Top Scorer Scholarship, and Tom Seddon Memorial Scholarship, and has received medals and certificates in numerous classes during her years at JCA. She is captain of the varsity golf team, a Student Ambassador, and active in Key Club, Student Council, French Club, Math Team, Scholastic Bowl, and is editor-in-chief for 41-88 Art and Literary Magazine and Victory View Newspaper. Alison volunteers at Feed My Starving Children as well as a children’s summer day camp. While Alison is considering where she will go to college, she intends to double major in political science and comparative literature.

Charles Czerkies, son of Laura and Scott Czerkies of Joliet, is a graduate of Holy Family Grade School. Charles is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and received the Franciscan Carmelite Top Scorer Scholarship. He is a Student Ambassador and active in Key Club. Charles is on the varsity basketball team, captain of the varsity soccer team, and also is the manager of the girls soccer team. Outside of his school responsibilities, he is a YMCA camp counselor. Charles plans on attending University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he will study engineering, technology, and agricultural systems management.
