Class of 2026 Honored with Senior Awards at Annual Baccalaureate Liturgy and Graduation

The Joliet Catholic Academy Class of 2026 graduated on Sunday, May 17 in the JCA Student Activity Center. Earlier in the week on Thursday, May 14, JCA graduates took part in a Baccalaureate Liturgy led by Bishop Dennis Spies at the Cathedral of St. Raymond. The Class of 2026 received awards highlighting the numerous accolades they garnered during their high school careers. Sunday’s graduation culminated in JCA’s newest graduates walking the stage and receiving their diplomas.

The highlight of the Baccalaureate Liturgy was the final awards announced. The presentation of the Class Valedictorian and Salutatorian and JCA’s Angel of the Year and Hillman of the Year.

Each year, the Administration of Joliet Catholic Academy awards the most prestigious academic awards to the Salutatorian and Valedictorian of the senior class. The Joliet Catholic Academy community is extremely proud of these seniors and congratulate them and their parents for this great accomplishment. They join the select few of previous candidates who have attained this tremendous academic distinction.

Joliet Catholic Academy’s most distinguished award recognizes the two students who have upheld the highest standards of honesty, reliability, courtesy, concern, and respect for others. They have carried out their accepted responsibilities with enthusiasm and dedication, influenced their peers by their positive attitudes, and have given witness to the Gospel values.

Each year, the JCA Athletic Department honors students who demonstrate both academic and athletic achievement. This award is given to the top male and female athletes who have earned the highest GPA and have participated in two or more sports.

The JCA Spirit Award recognizes students who have displayed academic excellence, school spirit, cooperation, loyalty, and service to the JCA community.

The Administration, Faculty, Staff, Board of Members, and Board of Directors of Joliet Catholic Academy offer the heartfelt congratulations to all recipients, their parents, stepparents, guardians, grandparents, relatives, and friends.

Joliet Catholic Academy’s Class of 2026 marked the 157th year of Catholic education in Will County provided by the Carmelites and Franciscans between St. Francis Academy, De La Salle High School, Joliet Catholic High School, and Joliet Catholic Academy. Since the merger of JCHS and SFA in 1990, this year marked the 36th graduating class at Joliet Catholic Academy.
