PRAYER & DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS for March 6, 2026
Good morning JCA family. This is Senior Lindsey Alcantar and today is Friday, March 6th, 2026.
Let us pause for a moment and remember that we are in the presence of God,
Lord,
As Jesus taught us that true life is found in losing it for His sake, and in taking up our cross daily, help us to embrace the challenges of this Lenten season with courage and faith. As He foretold His own suffering and resurrection, grant us the strength to face our own trials, knowing that you are with us. As He warned that gaining the world profits nothing if we lose our souls, lead us to prioritize eternal values over fleeting earthly desires. May we, like Jesus, deny ourselves and follow your path, trusting that you will lead us to true and lasting life. Grant us the grace to surrender our will to yours, to embrace self-sacrifice, and to find our true selves in you. May our Lenten journey be a time of profound transformation, leading us closer to you and to a deeper understanding of your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
· OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL…. pray for us.
· ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI……. pray for us.

WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH:
The actual celebration of Women’s History Month grew out of a weeklong celebration of women’s contributions to culture, history and society organized by the school district of Sonoma, California, in 1978. Presentations were given at dozens of schools, hundreds of students participated in a “Real Woman” essay contest and a parade was held in downtown Santa Rosa. A few years later, the idea caught on within communities, school districts and organizations across the country. In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8 as National Women’s History Week. The U.S. Congress followed suit the next year, passing a resolution establishing a national celebration. Six years later, the National Women’s History Project successfully petitioned Congress to expand the event to the entire month of March.

PRAYER & DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS for March 3, 2026
Good morning JCA family. This is Senior Josh Stewart and today is Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026.
Today, the Church honors Saint Katharine Drexel, a 19th-century American heiress who dedicated her life and fortune to serving marginalized communities, particularly Native Americans and African Americans. Born in 1858 in Philadelphia, Katharine was raised in a wealthy and philanthropic family. She is best known for founding the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, an order dedicated to the education and spiritual well-being of these underserved populations. Her commitment led to the establishment of numerous schools and missions across the United States, including Xavier University of Louisiana, the only historically Black Catholic university in the country. Her life exemplified a profound commitment to social justice and the Gospel message of love and service.
Let us pause for a moment and remember that we are in the presence of God,
Almighty God, you blessed Saint Katharine Drexel with a deep love for you and the gift of expressing that love through dedicated service to marginalized communities: Grant me a spirit of compassion and generosity, that I may, like Katharine, see your face in those who are overlooked and underserved; that I may dedicate my resources and talents to building a more just and loving world; that I may work tirelessly to dismantle systems of oppression and promote equality for all; that I may be a source of hope and support to those who are struggling, sharing the light of your love; this day and all my days, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
